Frequently Asked Questions
To obtain a card, you must either live, work, go to school or own property in Grayson County or be within the Lincoln Trail District which consists of Breckenridge, Grayson, Hardin, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties. If you do not live within the Lincoln Trail District, then a $10 annual fee will be required along with proof of good-standing from your local library.
Your first Library card is FREE. If your card is lost or stolen, a replacement card is issued for $1.
We do not charge for overdue books unless they are damaged or never returned. You will then be charged the purchase price of the item. We do, however, have a “guilty conscience” jar located at the circulation desk if you feel the need to donate.
Deposit Books – If you have checked out a Deposit Book, you have 3 months to return/renew the item before your deposit is forfeit. Your deposit is also forfeit if the item returned is damaged.
Interlibrary Loan – If you do not return your items on their due date, you may be charged the price of the book and/or a fee set by the lending library.

Do you have a pin# set up for your card? A four digit pin# will be required to log-in. This can be set up over the phone at 270-259-5455.
If we do not currently have the item you are looking for, we can request to borrow that item from another library through Interlibrary Loan. You can do this in person or over the phone. The item needs to be older than 12 months. You can request up to 3 items at a time. It may take several weeks for your item to arrive. Check out times will vary depending on the lending library.
